Does it run all the way through the month? Or even Thanksgiving? Always wondered how long it really lasts?
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

The does seem to come in in late Oct/early Nov and then come back in in late Nov.

...and again in mid-late Dec.  Figure every 21 - 28 days for each doe, until they conceive.  Very, very few fertile does left by late December.  Some does will cycle till March, though at that point, there's almost no bucks left with the testosterone to finish the deal for them.

Last season saw a doe with 2 fawns that still had spots in October. What is it like 200 days from breeding to birth?

On the way home from the Hospital in Shelton at midnight tonight  I saw a small buck chasing a doe by the High School, a BIG buck pushing a doe across 101 just beforeGoldsburough Creek, 8 more deer down Kamilche Pt Rd, 4 in Tenino and a 2 point with a doe in my yard. This storm must have had them hunkered down and the first good break (around midnight) they decided to party.  That is more deer in one night than I have seen since September combined.   :chuckle:

Just now watched this three point dogging a doe across our field.

First time any of the bucks I have caught on camera have been out in the daylight.

He was hot on her and not a care in the world...is it Thursday yet??

It has really slowed down out here, unless the does are holed up and the bucks are sitting on them tightly.  I haven't seen much activity, even at night, on the trail cams for a week.

Had a small buck pushing a doe doe down by my barn last night around midnight during that windstorm. I would have never known if he hadn’t tripped my motion sensor light a bunch of times. He chased her in circles around my stock trailer. If he had been a little bigger I would have snuck down and trapped him in the trailer during one of his laps.  :chuckle:

It’s still happening around my house. The late buck guys will have to find a doe now. The bucks aren’t cruising anymore but they are sitting on the does. Watched a bedded doe last night for about half hour, she had three bucks bedded not even 20 yards away. Whenever she stood up they would jump to their feet.

Good luck late buck guys and gals

As always, good here, bad there.  No deer at all in the yard for the last two days.
