Sounds like rut activity in Aberdeen, but as far as Ryderwood nothing.  Buddy has a dad that's a taxadermist and he has had 1 blacktail buck in so far.  That's is SLOW!

I think he meant that he saw one deer. May be wrong. Can you clarify Fishnfur?

I had to leave for work at 1am tuesday night. I saw a 2point following a doe right down the shoulder of hwy 2 in dowtown Sultan. The funny part was that they walked right by bubbas tavern, and there was 2 dudes standing outside the door smoking.   :chuckle:
You should have went down to the Loggers tavern and seen if there were any bucks there. Everyone knows they are larger deer down there.

Big ol' does down there from what I hear.
Yes, there's a lot more BIG deer at the loggers, and a lot easier filling your tag down there. Usually out in the open all day.....

I gotta ask. Those big does at the Loggers. At what point do they become cows?

Two does that went crazy after watching them for several minutes and never saw a buck. One hour later saw six does, one little spike, heard several grunts and some raking but never saw him in the thicket. One more day for my buddy.

I'm seeing a pattern that up north they are in heavy rut and not as much down south.  If u look at the 2017 blacktail harvest threat kinda sums up the late rut due to lack of big ones killed imo.

Slowest weekend I have ever hunted.  Saw a fork horn, a spike, a doe and a herd of two does and four fawns.  Very little sign of any movement.  Few tracks in fresh dew in the mornings.

We saw one deer all day yesterday, turned out to be a decent enough buck bedded down for the guy i took looking for his first  this weekend but it was hard hunting. No sign of them still rutting though.
