2017 buck
« on: October 14, 2017, 01:52:27 PM »
I got this little buck at about 7:30 this morning. Hiked about as far as I thought safe in the dark and waited a little bit for it to get light. I continued on my way glassing what I could see, turning up a few does. Hiked up to the top of the draw and over to the next one. Spotted some deer so threw the binos on them, just does. All of a sudden I heard something, look down and was a buck running 100yds away I assume another hunter pushed my way. The angle he was giving me I couldn't tell if he had 3 on the one side, I thought so but not sure so let him go. He went into the next draw so I followed and quickly turned him up with a couple does. He wasn't moving fast so I threw the spotter on him and confirmed 3 on one side. Debated shooting him a few minuted then decided to go ahead. Ranged 512, put the info into my phone app and dialed my scope. Laid prone, took aim, Boom! WHACK! Instantly saw him jump defiantly hit and he ran up the hill a little bit, shot again connecting again and he ran down into the bottom of the draw. Got up to him took a few solo pics and got to work, boned him out, loaded into the kifaru reckoning and made my way back to the truck 4.5 miles. Was a good morning!
