good work.  That's a nice looking buck.  Did you ever pick up a 280AI?  I recall you were doing some research a few months back.  I can PM you some info if you're still looking for experiences with that caliber.

Sure PM me some info, "Bobcat" spanked my fanny for offending him with a 3 month ban. I failed to realize some peaople are just "Sensative". I'm trying to work on that. I'm not used to having to be so conscious of such things.

Awesome I killed a deer doe with a mac 90 sks once so... yeah.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

Did that with a AK47 and open sights when I was on leave from the military in 91. At about 650 yards. Started low and walked them in !!! End result.. cold ones and tenderloins.

I like the 6.8 but my lean towards it was based on availability of factory ammo. What round did you use? I'm currently using Hornady 110 v-max for coyote and took it for bear this year.

Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

I shot this buck with the factory Hornady 120gr SST load. It broke a rib on Impact destroyed the lungs and exited. The exit was smaller than the entrance. I had two magazines on me, one had the factory Hornady 120 SST's and the other had the Factory Nosler SSA 110gr Accubonds. Both loads shot well out to 300 and had minimal difference in vertical impact.

I wanted to try the SST first. I felt at 6.8 SPC velocities I would get good performance from the SST. I have shot two deer with a AR chambered in 6mm-6.8 SPC using the 95gr SST and it's a wicked combo, Bang Flops out to 287 yards.
