Got a fuzzy buck today
« on: October 14, 2017, 09:59:50 PM »
I saw this buck this afternoon about a half mile out and decided I would try to put the sneak on him. I was crawling through the low brush on my way over to the buck and ran into a doe that had me pegged. I thought to myself crap busted and that buck is going to blow out of here. She finally lost interest in me and started feeding on. I took advantage and snuck past her. I made it over the hill about where I thought the buck should be and no deer. I was starting to think well that sucks I snuck over here for nothing then I caught movent to my right not only was there one but two legal bucks trying to escape over the hill. I pulled up and boom down went the buck then I looked up at the second one and he was a monster oh well maybe he will survive the season and we will meat up next year. I got up to the buck and his horns were covered in full velvet still. I've never gotten a buck in full velvet before.

Seems to be a bunch of them this year.   The theory that many are running with is that they froze their balls off this last winter when it got so cold.   It’s a good theory.    Congrats on harvesting him.

That's a cool buck. It would make an interesting Euro.
