Daughter's first deer

My daughter took her first deer this weekend. She passed hunter education earlier this year, and submitted an application to participate in a Safari Club sponsored youth hunt. Being one of the fortunate ones selected, we made plans and took took several trips to a local shooting range together for her to become more proficient.
After freezing in a cold blind for a few hours, we were blessed to see some deer run into a nearby orchard. The landowner’s and Safari Club representative took us on a sneak that got within about 80 yards of where the deer were, but they were hidden from view. After waiting a bit, the deer walked up and she was able to take a perfect shot that dropped the deer in its tracks.
We’re grateful for the landowner and Safari Club’s Puget Sound chapter working together to make this possible.
I have an excited daughter, and she has a proud father.

Good job! I'm hoping my 11 year old gets his first deer this year (3rd) year at it. Great memory for you two.

It's tuff to get those whitetails they are so high strung & hard to get close to. Quite an accomplishment. Good work!!
