Anyone been in there this year? How’s the winter kill. Trying to decide whether to go in there for the later November hunt...

It got hit hard by outfitters this year, a few of the neighbouring outfitters could hunt their areas due to fire so they worked together. I heard it was a zoothis year.

Just got back from a 4 day hunt in unit 19. Deer numbers are lower than I have ever seen them. We saw around 20 deer and the only buck was a small spike. Pretty depressing!

See any wolf tracks?

Yes had 3 run the road for probably 5 Miles one night. They left the road 50 yards from our camp.

Colder than hell with snow. It cleared Monday and Tuesday when we left and was hot. Supposed to be bluebird weather now for a week or more.

Spent the last four days in Unit 43, and two in unit 32.  Unit 43 looked like half of Boise was there!
Worst ever for poor numbers. No wolves, just a 70% winter snow kill, per the game biologist who checked out our gear.  We did see three shootable bucks, but they were out of distance and covering ground in the wrong direction above Featherville.  Hunted in snow above 6,000' and wet below.
Ditto the turkey and other upland bird populations.
Filled one out of four tags.  Very disappointing indeed.
You'll never get a Big'un if you keep shooting Little'un's.
