How often do you replace strings?

How often do you replace your bow string?
Once a year? Two years? Three?
Or do you go by number of shots taken?

I go to Denton at Rock Creek in Enumclaw for strings.  I end up getting about 2 seasons if I don't shoot a bunch of 3D's.

for me its once a year for my compound I hunt with. I carry my bow from the handle and rest the stabilizer on the back of my forearm so my string takes a bit of a beating if I'm hiking through a mesh of stuff. I think it really depends of the shooter and how they use their bow. My recurves I have yet to replace the strings even once and I've had them all for about 3 years.

1-2 years for me. I shoot year round and get some that are guaranteed for two years. I think they're called Winner's Choice.

I shoot a lot, so I do mine every year after hunting season is over. I’ve seen strings break on bows and it’s usually not pretty.

I had a cable break once, was not fun, but luckily broke at the shot and blew forward.
