What's happening at Debay wildlife area?
« on: October 28, 2017, 09:27:12 PM »
I noticed the gate to the Swan area was open today ,so I drove in. There is a new sign saying Hunting with shotgun allowed.

Looks like the eastern edge is open to hunting access, west of the slough, east of the viewing area.

Could not see any evidence of duck hunters accessing the slough.

Anyone got a clue? :dunno:

It's been open all summer.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

It's been that way for years, except for the gate & new sign.  Sometimes the gate is open sometimes not.  There wasn't any waterfowl in there last I checked (a few day ago).

The new sign indicates Shotgun Hunting allowed. I thought maybe they were allowing access to the west side of the water way.

But a friend emailed the manager and no such luck.

But the new sign is confusing.

There has been some talk about allowing some blinds in there, but a up hill battle for sure.
