Most accurate factory AR10 rifle and/or upper?
« on: October 30, 2017, 09:12:00 AM »
Who's making the most accurate factory AR10 platform these days?  I have a precision bolt gun, but part of me thinks I need a gas gun too :chuckle:  I have access to the tools to build an upper, but I'd kind of like to just go factory since I've heard AR10 parts don't play as nice as AR15 parts.  Larue is the only one that I've found putting a 1 MOA guarantee on their guns, but it seems like more people are making AR10's now days, so maybe there's other options...  Bolt gun is a 6.5CM so I'm looking for a .308 in a gas gun.

Thanks!

Machine an 80% lower to an upper, you will not, can not, buy anything with a tighter tolerance than that.

After that, it is all in the Barrel.  I have a Black Hole Weaponry Barrel, 24" Barrel that I shoot 175gr Tipped Matchkings out of, it is a shooter and it regularly beats JP barrels with matching bolts.

Mega arms which is now zev tech. Sub MOA. I own a couple AR-15's as well as there MATEN platform which is an AR-10. Plus they are manufactured in centralia wa. Can't beat the fit and finish either.

Just build one yourself. For accuracy,  it really comes down to barrel, a properly head spaced bolt and a good adjustable gas block. These things are just Legos for big kids. Just remember AR10/LR 308 have some proprietary components that aren't compatible with everything. I haven't had a Blackhole Weponry barrel and bolt that wasn't under moa with factory ammo.

A 6.5 Creedmoor on a Mega MATEN set would be a nice set up. Mega machines some really nice stuff!

Mega runs tolerances tighter then most mil spec as well. I highly recommend anything they do. Now that they merged with zev tech the glock guys should be thrilled.
