Third wolf illegally killed in Southern Oregon, $5,000 reward posted

Fish and wildlife officials said another federally protected gray wolf was found dead in Klamath County, the third known illegal killing since October 2016.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said Monday that OR-25, a 4˝-year-old male, was found dead Oct. 29 near Fort Klamath in the Sun Pass State Forest.

A wolf carcass was discovered April 23 in the Fremont-Winema National Forest but federal officials only confirmed the animal was OR-33 in early October.

On Oct. 6, 2016, a female wolf, OR-28, was found dead in the same forest near Summer Lake. All three animals were wearing tracking collars at the time of their deaths.

OR-33, a male, had been shot. The cause of death was not released for the other two wolves, but a federal official said they did not die of natural causes.

I may get trashed for this but i do hope they are caught. I don't agree with wolf reintroduction and i don't agree with hunters making their own decisions on what is poaching and what isn't.  To ethical sportsmen it is clear. If it is illegal to shoot, don't shoot.

I wouldn't do it. I wouldn't condone it. It's very sad. I'll have to figure out how to move forward in spite of this tragedy.

I think the reward money should go to the guy killing the wolves, just my opinion.

So if we know there is an OR33 does that mean we should be able to get a general location for all the wolves the state has collared, and or tagged?
