New Chair of Natural Resources
« on: November 09, 2017, 06:35:16 PM »
I just wanted to express my absolutely insincere thank you to all of the citizenry that supported and voted for a Democratic Senator this election cycle, thereby destroying any semblance of a balance of political power in Olympia.

Sportsmen and women lost the opportunity to appoint a true friend of hunter advocacy and wildlife conservation as Chair of the Natural Resources and Parks Committee.  The incoming chair is a rabidly progressive liberal Democrat that has received an F rating from the Hunter's Heritage Council (and undoubtedly the NRA)...and is beloved by Conservation Northwest and their ilk.

Now, more than ever, we need to organize and prepare to fight back against what will surely be a torrent of a laundry list of asinine anti-gun and anti-hunting legislation in the coming sessions in Olympia.

This post should state the Chair of the "Natural Resource and Parks Committee" and not the Natural Resource Department.

The committee oversees WDFW, DNR, State Parks, and Ecology. This is not a DNR position.

Duly noted and amended. End of long work day semantics oversight on my part. Thank you.

Too many people don't vote. Voter turnout in King County was only 37.38% (https://results.vote.wa.gov/results/current/king/).  Obviously there were not enough registered voters on Jinyoung's side of the political fence that voted. The same problem occurred in some other counties as well.

Now we have a biased legislature and a Governor all marching to the same drumbeat. We can expect some major attempts to infringe on our rights and freedoms in the near future. Also, expect more attempts to impose additional taxes as well (i.e. state income tax, carbon tax, etc.).

Those who didn't vote, or are not registered to vote are part of the problem.

Given some of the rampant ignorance that some Millennials (and others) display on a regular basis, I'm not sure that encouraging everyone to vote would be part of the solution.   :chuckle:

It was millennials that caused the 08 financial meltdown, Obamacare, and the nomination of the two worst US Presidential candidates we've ever experienced in 2016.

Go boomers and Xers.  You're a real success. :salute:

I didn't know that subprime mortgages and CDOs were created by people born from 1982 to 2004.

The best part about good sarcasm is that there’s always an element of truth.  Well done.
