Cougar calling
« on: November 20, 2017, 08:09:56 PM »
Okay, I’m just getting into seriously hunting cats this last few years and with all the reading I’ve found I haven’t come across anything like this. I spent last Friday looking for cougar tracks in the snow near colville. I tagged out on deer the day before, worked into the edge of a meadow that has had cat sightings in the past and settled in to watch n listen. After about 15 min or so I hear some chirps n a lot of what I find later to be a female in heat calls. This went on for about 3-4 minutes then silence. Dummy me didn’t have any calls on me, wasn’t really expecting anything to happen!!! I stayed there for an hour but didn’t see or hear anything else. What could I have done or do in that kind of situation? Really awesome experience regardless. Thanks
