Buddy got a nice super blanket last week but said they are only going for $5 !  :yike:  ????

I can't believe that is correct unless he is selling them in the round. A finished super ought to be worth at least 12 bucks. Even that is enough to make a trapper cry but better then $5.
I remember reading about the Mountain Man Rendezvous' back almost 200 years ago. When silk hats were introduced the price of beaver collapsed and one of the old trappers complained he would not sell his plew's for $5.
Trappers need a cost of living increase.

$5 in 1820 is $87 today.  I see the amount of work that goes into these furs - $87 seems low.
