Awesome buck!

How is it that Mossback always seems to be involved when big buck like this go down?

That's what they do. Guide trophy deer.

but in this case, antelope island is an animal unto itself. they must have guide rights there?

I always thought they were just a brand and profited of tracking down big bucks and being there when the kill happens.  Didn't realize they were actual guides.

I have a couple buddies in the industry who know Doyle and say he is pretty crooked. But they absolutely kill some monster bucks for big buck$. That hunt has lost some of it's mystique in my eyes now that all of instagram knows every buck on the island by name.  :twocents:

Mossback does a lot of hunts for free if it’s in a high quality area just so he can have photo and video rights for it because there’s money in that too.

I am not sure how much this specific tag costed the hunter, in addition to any agreement he may have had with mossback.  I know some of the Antelope island tags have been auctioned off for more than $250k.

It was 410 last year, 390 the year before.  Not sure what this year was.  I think mossyback has exclusive rights to this hunt as it’s a money maker for the Utah fish and Game and I believe he is part of organizing this for them.
