Aftrmarket stocks, question

I'm sure this may seem like an obvious answer, but.
When the stock manufacturer states the stock has an inlay that is for the Rem. 700 BDL, will this accommodate the CDL as well?

I think when they say BDL it just generically indicates an opening on the bottom for the hinged floorplate/bottom metal.
ADL would mean no opening.

Only real difference, I believe, between the BDL and CDL is the type of finish on the stock. BDL is a glossy finish whereas the CDL is a semi gloss. The action, barrel, and bottom metal is all the same. So yes an aftermarket BDL style stock should fit a CDL.

Yes. A BDL stock is completely compatible with your CDL. 

Your CDL is a BDL. BDL meaning It has a hinged floor plate assembly.

ADL means it is a blind box magazine, no floor plate assembly.

With regard to what? 

Since the topic of this discussion is stocks, nothing is different.  If you are talking about the action, then the difference is in the bolt face.  Standard long action bolt face diameter is .473 +/- and Magnum is .535 +/-.

Maybe the fill? Sometimes for magnums they use a heavier fill.

I wonder if the "Long Action magnum" is for the Remington Ultra Mag. Actions? "Standard" magnums such as 7mm Rem. Mag. and 300 Win. Mag. should be the same as any other Long Action cartridge as far as the stock is concerned, I would think. But perhaps the Ultra Mags are different? I would just call the stock maker and confirm with them what you need for your particular rifle.

The action is the same length for magnum or ultra magnum. It’s a long action...
The stocks are also the same for these options. Maybe the designation is for barrel channel?

If it's a Rem 700 LA they are all the same length, regardless of what they are chambered in.  The bolt face and feed rails may be different but length is the same for all of them.

That's possible, I never thought of that.  I know McMillan has multiple different fills for their stocks and one of them is called magnum fill so maybe that's what he meant.
