Late whitetail archery tips
« on: November 16, 2017, 07:47:08 AM »
I’m planning on hunting later archery around Tonasket. This is my first late hunt. Does anyone want to share their knowledge, tips, or tactics? So far, I figure I will still hunt until I cut across some tracks and then follow them. I appreciate the help.

Another option to consider:
Find a busy trail with lots of fresh tracks or some fresh scrapes then sit still and watch. Use a blind or tree stand if you have one.

What dale said. Stand hunt. Find where the action is and get some elevation. Still hunting is not effective imo around there. You in the mountains or lower in the sage stuff? If lower, might get away with spot and stalk. If in the mountains, tree stand or ground blind.

I’m in the mountains. I’ve got a ground blind that I can use and some areas that I saw good sign earlier this year. Thanks for the help!

I’m not far from there and have learned over the years to stick to what’s effective and stand hunting trumps all. A climber stand could be effective too. Allows you to find more action and move accordingly
