2017 Late MF Season
« on: November 15, 2017, 12:26:23 PM »
Anybody have special plans for the last four days of the General Season?

I'm heading North to Mason Co. with three firearms, a tree stand, a ground blind, two sets of rain gear, a 3-D deer target for a decoy, and all the miscellaneous things that I might suddenly decide I can't live without once I get there.  "Deer Camp" is a lake house with hunting close by. - not roughing it, but the weather's going to suck for at least a few days.  I'm all packed and out the door.

Good luck all!  Shoot straight!

Good luck Fishnfur. I see backstraps and deep forks in your future.

Was out guiding a friend yesterday afternoon  to try to get him his first deer.  We saw a 5x5 at 315 yards but didn't get a shot, he did get his first kill though a snowshoe hare. Today we will go out in the same area after he gets out of his Criminal Justice classes from 12-4:50pm to try again for a buck. Friday I will probably be out with my cousin all day pushing deer for him or I might just stay home and rest for my last day of vacation.

I've only got one day available, debating driving over to Mason County tomorrow to stand in the rain and try to figure out blacktail hunting in an area I've never been to.

I went out today for a few hours.  Saw two deer both bucks, a spike, and a decent 3pt that I was going to kill, but he wandered off into the timber before I could send a Dr. Death Pill down range.
