Rut news(whitetail)
« on: November 17, 2017, 05:52:51 PM »
Not sure how much time you all have, but the rut started firing today.   Half day in the woods, 25 whitetail bucks seen.  Several rattled in.   Watched scrapes being made, chasing going on.   Little ones are really fired up, but the bigs are starting their daylight routine.

I watched a few muley bucks chasing does today.  Nothing big.

Hopefully still cruising come Tuesday for late archery.

Here's to hoping it sticks around for late archery.

Everything else popped early, but whitetails didn’t seem to follow suit.

Veterans Day we saw a nice muley who wouldn't leave his girlfriend's side.  We spooked them at 15 yards, and he never bolted.  He followed her tail very closely as she briskly walked away.  Very nice buck wish I could of gotten a picture.

Last night on my property near chewelah I saw 11 does, a spike and two 4 point white tails about 3 1/2 years old with zero rut activity. All eating together in a very small field. No chasing, no checking, all like it was September, very weird. Tonight in the same field, same time with zero hunting pressure, only saw 1 spike. So I guess something started, very unusual..

Just had a nice 4pt WT cruise pass the house about 5 minutes after a doe passed, nose down and on a mission.
Just tend your own and live.

Spent Saturday-Wednesday in 124. Found one small rub line and that was it. Zero bucks seen chasing and did not stumble on any scrapes. Fast forward to yesterday, at work in 127, busted a doe out of her bed. Not 2 min later a 120-125” 4x4 came running in and stopped right at the does bed, nose in the air and not 20 yards away from me. Never even looked at me. So late Palouse tag holders should see some action around 127.

Have been out everyday of late buck.  Very little activity until Thursday.  Started seeing fresh scrapes in about 12" of snow we have.  Friday, more scrapes in areas 5 miles apart.  I knew it was on so stayed with it all day.  Found this guy with 3 does and he was way more interested in the than me😂  Very late start in my area.  Not sure why.

Nice big buck chasing a doe hard Thursday, seen him run her by me 3 times. Buck I harvested today was pretty stinky.

100 percent on today.  18 bucks in just a couple hours this morning, all going full tilt.  Saw one buck who broke an antler off last night.   Saw another tearing up a sign post.  Bucks chasing bucks, and bucks running doe.   It’s on!
