Late bow starts Wednesday!
« on: November 19, 2017, 06:29:41 PM »
Hey all,

I am new here and I just got back here to Western Washington (Centralia) after being gone 4 years. I heard that most the roads out here are blocked off now....is there any truth to that? Anyways, I havent hunted in 4 years but I still got my PSE Brute X so I will be headed out Wed morning.....more than likely the Capitol Forest/Minot Peak area??

Does this sound like a good idea? any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated! I dont know anyone who bow hunts so I will be going at it alone.

Thanks in advance!

All I have for you is a good luck and safe travels wish.  I will be down in Willapa Hills unit trying to avoid tag soup for the year.  I'm not familiar with the area you are hunting and have not yet figured this western hunting thing out just yet.  3 years into it and have yet to see an elk while hunting.  I've come across some deer but no shooters.  Definitely in the learning phase at this point.

Good luck and try to stay dry!

My advise, look elsewhere than capital forest. I 'think' orv is still open.  So itll be loud with dirtbikes. The typical crackhead hideouts too.  I suggest furthur west. Get OnX maps and glass clear cuts. Good luck man

Good luck. I'll be trying to fill my late season tags on public land in 672 Fall River unit. I've been up to capital scouting a couple times, there are animals there but tons of pressure like already mentioned (not just hunting pressure). This is my first yr hunting the west side and its a different world that's for sure. I'd recommend looking elsewhere but I know a guy that shot a nice 4 point up capitol during modern (wasn't me).
