$150 Savage Axis SMOKING DEAL is back!
« on: November 22, 2017, 09:12:43 AM »
The deal is back, this time with the Accutrigger. Savage Axis II scope combo with Accutrigger for $150 after the rebate. This is like the deal of the century.

That is a good deal, however you'd need to have it shipped to an FFL holder and then you'd have to pay whatever they charge for the transfer, plus tax. So probably add another $60 to $75, but still a good deal if you need a 223 and even better that it has the good trigger so that won't need to be modified or replaced like you'd have to do with the regular Axis. It was nice ordering from Cabelas as I didn't have to pay any additional fees for the background check.

$75?? That sounds too much. The taxes will be 25 bucks max, and you pay that anyways when buying a gun, plus another 15-25 bucks for the FFL.  I know a guy that does the FFL in Seattle for $12, and most in my area do it for only 20 bucks.  So all you're paying extra is the FFL fee.

The background check fees can vary widly.  I called a shop in Olympia asking about transfer fees and they said $50.00 for the background, then the tax on top.  Then another shop in Lacey was $20.00.

Like bobcat said, going through Cabela's was much better...if you can stand their constant check, recheck and verify process!
