Build an Rbros Rifle
« on: November 22, 2017, 07:12:30 PM »
So, we all know about Rbros and what they do. I figure we have some holiday time coming....folks will be dozing on the recliner with a belly full of turkey, prime rib, or maybe a nice venison roast. So...let your mind wander. Spend some time dreaming and tell me what your build would be. Now....this needs to be practical. A hunting rifle, meant for the field. Needs to be lethal past 500 and focused on our NW game....deer, bear, elk. A do all if you will. What would you build? Why?

My current dream build is pretty basic. 7mm rem mag, Carbon Hunter, topped with a Nightforce NXS 5.5x22x50.

Annnnnd go!

Limited to production rifles?
The best equipment in the world is useless to the idiot who doesn't understand it.

Well.....browse the Rbros site.....LW Hunter? Carbon? Which one? Caliber? Scope? Long range hunter? Up to you. They do custom as well.

My next will be a 7mm/300wsm.
:yeah:  Carbon barrel, nix the extra pound for nightforce and get a 4-24 leupy with HD glass, led leveling and turrets.  Stick on a carbon fiber leupy magnetic bipod.  Load up some 210's in the 30WSM and you have accuracy and knockdown out to 1000 yards loaded hot and taking high shoulder shots and a very packable rifle.

I kinda like the idea if the lw hunter.  I like em small and fast thats  kinda my deal. 6mm or maybe 257bob cuz I don't have either of those yet.  And at some point I might get called a 7mm08 hoarder of I added another to the stable :chuckle:

Nothing against Anybody, but it’s pretty easy to have a sub moa rifle built for a lot less, to YOUR  specs...

Doesnt Rbros guarantee a .5 or .25 MOA.?  Not sure you can get that from slapping a few parts together??

I'd be surprised if this $1200 rifle in 300 wsm wouldn't shoot .5 moa with some load development.

I hear yea.  Dropped three times the cost of an xbolt on a full custom carbon this year and love it !  Busting rocks at 1100 is a kick.

I probably missed it, but I didn't see any mention of left handed. So I'm out.
