Thirty Inch debate (poll)
« on: November 24, 2017, 10:16:35 AM »
This is for fun folks, unlike counting  eyeguards.   Thats for real an issue.      :chuckle:    When you are telling folks you saw or shot a thirty incher, are you speaking of the frame or are you counting the stickers?

Are we calling them stickers or cheaters?  :o

Personally I think a 30" buck should be a 30" buck because of the size of his frame and not his stickers/cheaters...but really, I don't care. either way it's a big buck unless he's got foot long cheaters off of both sides.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Kinda funny- I know several old timers who've hunted all their lives and have only seen maybe 2 or 3  deer 30" or over, yet some claim they see 2-3 per year.  Have been out with "rookies" who swore every 4 point they saw was at least 36" but when they actually shot one it was usually in that 22-24" range.  30" bucks are hard to come by. you're out and about all the time boneaddict, how many do you think you've seen in your lifetime? I've hunted deer for over 56 years and have shot 2, none recently.

Well I look over a few more deer than the average person does every year.   I saw a few of them this year, several of which are in my calendar, so at least I have proof.  You are correct though. Lol.  I imagine  once a deer hits 26 inches, he is a thirty to most people, until that tape comes out.  Same As the average 170 buck becomes a booner or a 200 incher.

I say frame only - outside.

I have seen MANY such bucks while hunting.

Somehow, the 30" I've seen while hunting turn into 24" bucks on the meat pole.    I must not be measuring them right.

Like my wife says... if you have a 12 inches of manhood, then it's time to stop measuring from you a-hole. Inside spread only for me.
The best equipment in the world is useless to the idiot who doesn't understand it.
