Anyone use an Abu Garcia revo sx Baitcaster?
« on: November 27, 2017, 01:59:27 PM »
They are on sale right now for 80$. Normally 160$. 6.4.1 or 7.1.1, 26” and 30” line retrieval. What do you think?

I bought a revo when they first came out. I don't recall what model but I'm happy with it.  For that price, it would certainly be worth trying out.

If you have an application for the reel that is a good price! I have always had good luck with Abu products.

Which would be better for bass sized spinnerbaits and large shallow rapalas?

I like slower reels when using a spinner bait.  Higher ratios like 7.1 you might find yourself trying to slow your retrevial down.  Both will work fine, more of a personal preference on how you fish.  I have one revo and am happy with it.  I would have bought another from this sale but they didn’t have any left hand retrieval when I looked.

What gear ratio? I ordered both the 6.4.1 and 7.1.1. I already have two 6.4.1 so I think I am gonna keep the 7.1.1 and return the 6.4.1. I am still unsure. I have never used a 7 before. But my fishing partner uses them a lot and thinks I will like it  :dunno:
