dropper
« on: November 27, 2017, 04:05:39 PM »
I filmed 2 different two points with droppers this fall.  Here is the little one.  The other is Mr. September. His rack was cool and I got really close shots of him.  This guy didnt want me within 500 yards of him.

Nice! How often do you see a WA deer with any type of dropper?

Definitely rare, but they are out there.  I have seen pictures of one that was taken this year.

I saw a muley in Idaho with a drop on one side this year.  Real nice buck, I thought he was a bull when I first saw his rack coming through the brush.  That's the only one that I've seen in my life.

I think out of all the sheds I have, I have two that have true droppers and out of all the bucks I’ve killed, I thought I had one.  That turned out to be a point damaged in velvet and bent down.   They considered it a point, not a dropper

I did get pics of a buck with a foot long corkscrew dropper. This fall.   I haven’t posted him yet.   He was a cal buck until he got bumped

I feel like I remember that buck/thread.   Montana?   Dig a pic up for us.

Mine is a weird one as well.  Mine kind or originates above the main beam, but then drops... I’m not sure if it qualifies as a drop or not. I think it must completely originate from the main beam?

I remember yours as a dropper.   Post a pic

Here is mine, and I guess even if it was a dropper, he isn’t from WA

I hope to take a dropper someday before I die, I've never even seen one on the hoof. Thanks for sharing the pic, can't wait for the calendar

I've only seen two with substantial droppers while hunting.   They were both big, mature deer.   I'm killing the next one that I see.   I attained a trail cam picture of the buck I passed last year.   He was hard horned when I had my encounter.   It was a tense couple of minutes sizing him up and trying to make a go - no go decision.   :chuckle:
