Snow/Inclimite Weather Pac Boots.................
« on: November 27, 2017, 07:33:54 PM »
OK, let's talk about the real deal. A boot that is truly waterproof, keeps your big ol feet warm, has reasonable traction so you don't sled down declines against your will, etc. Besides just going with a full rubber boot and three pairs of socks, what is out there that will tow the line? How about an old school pac boot with full rubber bottoms and leather uppers (ahhh. I fondly remember the old Sorrels I had in MT that served the purpose, perhaps with a wonder break bag over my sock... :)....... will that do the trick? Curious to hear your thoughts folks :)..  RJ

Muck boots hands down and you can get them with bobbed souls!! Your feet will stay dry and warm no problem and I have hiked 10 to 12 mikes in a day and my feet feel great !! And they are around 100 dollars !!

i know this might sound crazy but if you wear a thin regular cotton sock, fruit of the loom type and a wool sock, I like the fox river red and white old fashioned ones and dust your feet with baby powder or foot powder and don't get s muck boot that's to tight but snug enough wear your foot with those socks on you really don't sweat that bad and if you do that sock layer pushes the sweat out, I learned it in the army and are feet was our horse, we would generally walk 50 to 75 miles a week and that's with extremely heavy rucks weighing anywhere from 50 to 100 pounds, that system worked miracles for me!! If you don't like them then you have a fairly cheap boot that you can wear outside mucking around !!!
