Hey Everyone, I looked back a couple pages and could not find my questions so if this has been asked, I apologize in Advance. I am looking to get a new spotting scope. I am looking at Swarovski and Leupold. I’ve crossed off Maven and Vortex. The Maven is around the same price as the Swaro and from what I have read online, the Swaro edges it. I have owned a dozen vortex optics and there’s just not for me. My question is has anyone used their newer HD Gold Ring Spotters? I’m trying to figure out if the difference in glass is worth the extra money. I don’t mind spending the extra but I want to make sure it’s worth it. I’ve looked at one in the store but it’s hard to tell the difference when it’s bright and you can only see a few hundred yards outside. I’m not concerned about weight and the scope will get used a lot for hunting and shooting. I have the ELs and I love them. So I’m leaning towards Swarovski. All my rifle scopes are Leupold. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have the non HD 12-40×60 Gold Ring. I feel it has been a great scope. I do wish I would have bought the HD version not because I think it is that much better but it would have satisfied the urge I have now of wanting to upgrade. At 37 oz. It is considerably lighter than anything in its class.
Just curious to why you are comparing an alpha glass such as Swarovski to leupold. Why aren't you looking at other alpha glass such as Leica, Zeiss or Kowa spotters?
How far are you guys looking out with the 40x?
