Bear half mount taxidermists
«
on:
December 01, 2017, 09:30:55 PM »
I've talked to a couple of you on here regarding good taxidermists for a bear half mount for my fall bear that I got this year, but I'm still doing my research and compiling taxidermists/photos. Does anyone know of a fairly local (trying to avoid shipping out-of-state) taxidermist that specializes in bears? If you have any photos of closed-mouth half (or full) mounts, post 'em up! I think I searched through every previous post on the forum trying to find ideas for half-mounts. I don't usually spend much on taxidermy, but this bear was too nice not to have mounted. It will probably be a one-time deal, and I want to make sure I find the right taxidermist for the job.
I've heard good things about Charlie's Taxidermy, but he told me he is only doing work for friends at this point. Does anyone know anything about Alden's Taxidermy? His bears look pretty good, but I'm having a little trouble reaching him.
Thanks!

Does a bear half mount cost about the same as a deer shoulder mount?

here is my 3 legged bear i shot and had it done in a 1/2 body mount. was just going to just get a shoulder mount done but was hunting with my cuzin who talked me into the 1/2 body do to the uniqueness of the bear---yeah it cost a lot more but glad i did...cool to look up at the wall and see that every day. Taxi told me he was sad to see it go out of his front room cuz folks walked in and seen it, commented what a cool mount it was. I had Zack at Rainier Taxidermy in Roy do the bear . i had Aldens do a blacktail mount for me and it is beautiful...kinda spendy but you get what you pay for
