I just picked up a sony A6000 and was trying to get the same water effect that you have this weekend but couldn't figure it out. Any tips on what to adjust? Thanks colersu22. I'm using a Nikon D810, the camera far exceeds my abilities, but it's a lot of fun. I'm not familiar with the Sony, but if you put it in shutter priority mode or manual mode and then use a shutter speed of 1/2 second to several seconds (depending on how fast/rough the water is) you'll get the smoothed out look on the water. Obviously with the slow shutter speeds you'll have to be on a tripod as well. YouTube tutorial videos can be very helpful too.
