About 1300 hrs. He was bedded when I was stalking him (thinking he was another big buck), They were getting up and stretching about 1ish. I was at about 30 yards when he finally stood up and stretched and the doe got up to feed. He was bedded by this rock with a single doe at the time. There were two other bucks and a few doe in the area. The younger bucks started fighting, which is what got his attention here. There were intermittent showers and clouds, so it helped with the sun. I "shot" him up for some time, before abandoning him to look for the other buck. (rookie mistake) I took my Sitka vest off which had my spare battery and photocard in the pocket, and put on my rain jacket because of the weather. The vest was sitting back at my truck.
