Me too actually.  He really had the potential of being the biggest typical I had ever seen.   I sure had an exciting time filming him.  I had the thrill of the stalk, had a great photo session and watched him bed down. I was then able to return later with friends to find and film him agAin. Man......

People talk about 200" typical Mule Deer this guy scored 212" gross.and netted around 207. RIP CLAW

Just found out he died of natural causes.    Dang I was really looking forward to seeing what his antlers would do.

He doesn't look terribly old.  Do you think he was still on the upswing?

I'm glad someone ended up with the head at least. Bummer he wasn't able to make it through the winter though. Glad I got to see some photos of him.

just curious on his death?  someone you know found him, got hurt in a fight and infection? sad deal that trophy dies like that, but at the same time what an amazing buck that likely dodged hunters, bullets, arrows, until mother nature made him meet his maker.

I saw on Facebook that a hiker found him dead alongside a trail.

Sorry for your loss.   :o   

Gorgeous buck and framing of the shot.  F-stop played havoc with the result.  If the resolution could handle the enlargement, I'd try cropping out the left side and bottom out and resize the remainder.   If that doesn't produce acceptable results, it would be a great postcard cropped in similar fashion.  There's probably a still a market somewhere in this world for snail mail postcards from E. WA.  Hard to let a shot that good shot slip away unused.
