My best season to date
« on: December 05, 2017, 05:54:53 PM »
So, after 2016 deer season my 8 year told me she wanted to deer hunt in 2017. we did the online course and finished the field day at ravensdale gun club in September( great group of instructors there). She followed me during early muzzy season and after watching a bull tear up an alder at 60 yards in the brush he made his way out to us where I was able to harvest him with her by my side. Needless to say it was a great experience with my wife and other daughter coming out to help us pack him out. Deer season comes around and I have my buddies farm lined up in eastern Washington to take my daughter on her first deer hunt, 2 days before opener I got deployed to the fires in California. Time for plan b, try black tail around the house... after days of hiking around with her by my side she connects on a spike the last day of the hunt. To her it was the biggest buck in the woods.she made a great shot at 70 yards. I had a week off during late buck so my buddies and I headed east for whitetail. About mid week I was able to connect on a buck. I've hunted almost all my life but nothing beats seeing the excitement on your kids face when they get their first deer

Good on ya!  Her smiles say it all!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
