That's a lot of barrel; I was thinking more like a 20". Are longer barrels needed for the 6.5?
For a 20" barrel I really like the 7-08.

Are longer barrels needed for the 6.5?If you want to maximize velocities. 24 is optimal in my opinion.....though some would and will argue this. I am pushing 2730 fps with 140 grain acccubond and accuracy is sub moa. Consistent sub 1" groups at 300 yards. 24" barrel. My friends 20" barrel is only producing 2350-2400 fps for his sweet spot on accuracy.

I don't get it?
