Wynoochee 648 Cow Tag Intel
« on: December 06, 2017, 08:44:55 PM »
I was drawn for a cow tag in wynoochee and never hunted this unit before.  Wondering if anyone else has :dunno:

I'm not looking for anyone's go to spot, but more a starting point for anyone that's hunted the nooch, utilizing only public land.  I know there isn't much, but there are some sizeable chunks on the north end of the unit.

I'm heading in for a quick trip this weekend and any help would be welcomed.

Thanks,
Ryan

Take the Devonshire road exit.  Go north.  Pay attention to gates.  Once you start seeing Green diamond sings you are good to go.

Head up Wishkah valley all the way past the last field on the right (see elk there often) and take the main right turn, it'll be g line. It's all GD property. That will get you fairly close to game fields, after a few miles, which is state land plus blocks of GH County land.

If you have a jet boat, launch at White bridge and go upstream, you can hit all the fields that way.

Saw 5 elk in a field corner, had a cow at 70 with trees in between me and her, which left no clear shot.  Besides elk in private fields, those we all we saw.

That was my luck in rifle season up there too. One legal bull in someone's yard along wynoochee road.
