Sorry to hear about the loss of your buddy. I am sure he was as grateful as you were to share your time together. Just know that he will be waiting for you in heaven with that tail a wagging.

Been there done that with the hypoglycemia on a pointer, mine would seizure though, he became unhuntable at age 7. Curious to know if your dog was Elhew type pointer, mine was a grandson of Elhew upland gilly,he by Elhew Blue Nose by Elhew Snakefoot. Sorry for the loss ,but as you suggest he went out doing what he loved, safe to say you didn't get cheated any lots of pointers don't make 9.

When you have a really great bird dog it’s a shame we have to out live them. I hope when it’s my time to go get to out during or shortly after a great hunt. So sorry for your loss.
