I don't drink them but I am always summoned to make peppermint patty martinis this time of year.

I make a cranberry/orange shine (no Everclear here) that is a big hit with the friends and family. I temper it down to 40 proof for drinking straight or to 80 for mixing.

I made a batch of shine with a little cinnamon and nutmeg in it that is perfect for Tom and Jerry's!

Bourbon and 7 for me probably. I always kind of liked bourbon but over the past couple months I have really begun to love it. Bought a couple low-mid end bottles. Elijah Craig, Russles small bath, and a few others that have been delicious.

Shot or two of peppermint schnapps in a cup of hot chocolate. Also, Sleigh'r by Ninkasi Brewing. Awesome seasonal beer.

Piano, I'll have to try the "broken leg" (drink, not condition!). Sounds awesome.

I have an old fashioned ceramic gallon jug of that sitting in my house.. I make it myself! Sneaks up on you for sure and you don't even taste the alcohol!

Sorry DoubleJ but IMHO everclear is just plain bad...yeah the alcohol content is extreme but the taste is just nasty.  i (along with some others on the site) make our own and the taste is way better-even the higher proof stuff.  i can make 184 proof ( i think everclear is 190) and use it in apple pie but the peach pie i make with it is divine.  if you're ever in the area hit me up and i'll give you a quart of it..its a little hot to drink straight or use in eggnog or the like but if you proof it down to about 100 and use it for mixed drinks its dang good...Merry Christmas !

:yeah:
All the difference in the world!!  The only way to make Everclear drinkable in any form is to re-distill it at least twice!  A good, neutral sugar shine is the best way to go for making flavored stuff like apple pie.  If you have to use Everclear run it through a Brita filter a half dozen times or through activated charcoal to get the nasties out!
