This is a pretty good identification list with Pics. the Lid is a wagner unmarked which is why it fits the wagner skillet. This leaves me thinking that the Dutch oven is an unmarked wagner as well.

Pictures of the stamping on the Dutch and lid.
I’ll send the photos and numbering to an avid collector I know. A lot of his cast is in books on collecting cast iron. His little private museum has about 10K pieces.

I contacted a collector a while back, I think Enumclaw that has a barn full. I have yet to make a trip out to drool. I believe I have this figured out because the Dutch fits perfect and the Wagner frypan fits very well also.  My goal is more about history than $ because I doubt after the rust and such they are worth any real money. It just feels good to have a story behind the meal!

Had a Dutch oven get away from me quite a few years ago, the pot is currently in the oven. I’ve got the lid which wasn’t that bad on a hot fire.

Can’t wait see how the pot turns out.

Well the oven didn’t take much of that out unfortunately, it did clean the outside pretty well though. I have lots of grinding ahead of me tomorrow.🤯

There are ways to restore cast iron without grinding.  I watched a lady on YouTube do it and it looked really easy….

I also know that electrolysis works, but never much liked the idea of playing with electricity and water.

I’ll see if I can find the video….want to say she soaked the cast iron in lye.   Couple day process but the pan is stripped down to its bare cast and ready to be re-seasoned.

Cool, I’d rather grind it then buff it out with 320.

I do like the handles on those, that's the one thing with Lodge is that you always have to have something handy to handle them.

I bought a $5 silicon handle cover for my Lodge 12" skillet. Works like a charm. After years of use, it's still as non-stick as Teflon and I think it cost me about $20. I'm frugal (= cheap).

Those silicone handles are the bomb. Lodge brand or off brand dents matter they work sweet!

Anyone hopping off the cast iron train for the stainless train?

I have 3 cast iron skillets now. A 12", 8" and 6". I'll keep the smaller ones for sure but not as happy with the 12". It's the one I've had the longest and I'm starting to notice how uneven the cooking surface is. The center of it is a high point. Cornbread burns more in the center, uneven sear on meat, eggs slide away from center, etc. Maybe a "high quality" cast iron skillet wouldn't have that issue but I'm kinda over the nostalgia of it.

I always thought stainless was inferior and "sticky", maybe due to having super cheap pans. After watching an excessive amount of cooking videos lately I'm giving a quality stainless frying pan a go. I imagine there's a good reason stainless is used in most professional kitchens. Also, I can't get the words, "fond" or "deglaze" out my head.
