wow, what a waste of money.  How about communicating with Wyoming, Montana or Idaho about wolves and saving that money?

Sad part is that this doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I would expect nothing less.

That right there is what's got me wanting to spend less money on hunting in Washington and more money in other states. Next year I'll take the money I would've spent here and I'll spend it in Wyoming instead.

Nope,  she has seen the stupid sign on WDFW's forehead.

I went to one of her meetings, what a joke.

This surprised me...

Madden has won support from state Rep. Joel Kretz, R-Wauconda. Kretz, whose district includes most of the state’s wolves, said that before Madden the Wolf Advisory Group’s policies were strongly tilted toward urban viewpoints.

“And we got out of it a really bad wolf plan,” he said. “The only progress I’ve seen with the (advisory group) has been since she’s been on it.

It is infuriating to see WDFW waste sportsmen's dollars on this issue.  Let the greenies and the cattlemen pay this bill if they want to...Hunters will probably never get a chance to harvest wolves in this state, they are not a game animal, and there are far better uses of that money.  I bet we could open a lot of private land to public hunting for $425k.

I will not buy a hunting license here in Washington State, it's to expensive, the deer numbers are really low. I can buy a small game/big game license in New York and Pennsylvania for v$100 each and buy doe tags for $10 a piece.
There are so many deer there it makes this state a joke as far as deer numbers and game department management.

I agree what a wast of money. But as far as saying Id never hunt in wa st is a bit much. Here you can shoot a mule deer, whitetail , blacktail or even an high bred deer, Rocky or Roosevelt elk. I guess its just a harder state to hunt for some people. But if your welling to get out of your truck and off the beaten path there is plenty of animals to hunt here. Do your homework and you can be successful year after year. Sorry for high jacking this thread. I do think our game department sucks, but will still hunt my home st. I can get my deer, elk, and bear  within 30 miles of my hse. So as far as costing to much, out of st tags and fuel are going to cost a lot more than the $200 bucks that I spend on my tags and lic . I still put in other states but only in the trophy areas so if I do get drawn I will be going after 350 plus bulls only. Just a different way at looking at things I guess.

That surprised me too. So basically it says the WDFW leadership was so inept and tilted from the get go that this is "needed"?

We could change the thread title to 1.6 mill. Wow, a lot could be accomplished with that  :bash:

By mid-2019, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife will have paid a consultant up to $1.6 million over four years to help it reconcile conflicting views on wolves, according to the consultant’s contract.

We should add up all of the real losses (depredation, weight loss and reproductive failure) add see if it reaches $1.6 million.  I can row in Kretz's boat, they have killed some wolves, but the boat is just to expensive.
