Curly Wolf Gunsmithing - Shelton WA - Gary Mills
« on: October 27, 2017, 02:22:00 PM »
Hi folks - wondering if anybody has experience with Gary Mills at Curly Wolf Gunsmithing. Just looking for references or any suggestions for a good smith in the Tacoma area.

Thanks!

(Didn't there use to be a "campfire" forum here?)

I have no experience with the gunsmith mentioned.

I may be able to answer your second question, though.

For Virtual Campfire, you now need to "opt in".  Good luck!  :hello:

Thought I’d dig up my old query and offer an update.

Curly Wolf did a great job on my project, an old single shot 22 that needed a refinish. He took time to talk different finishes with me, offered some options, and did a great job that was delivered on time.

Super nice folks and great communication.

Nice!
Post some pics if you get a chance, I love the old single shots!

I went out to Curly Wolf when I had trouble getting one of filler screws out for the scope mount on my new Tikka this year. Gary fixed it easily & no charge. I told him I'd like to get a thread protector made for the muzzle brake on my Browning. He said I had a couple options. 1. He would make the protector & charge me the shop rate I believe is $90/hr (not 100% sure) & it would take him about an hour or 2. He teach me how to make one & that would be about 2 hrs.

Great guy & I look forward to going back now that season is over.
