Bushnell Elite 6500 4.5-30X 50
« on: March 06, 2009, 07:35:47 PM »
Anyone have this scope or have any info on it.  It sure has a nice power range on it.  Would almost eliminate the need to pack a spotting scope.  I wonder how clear it is on
30X. I've never used Bushnell products but am thinking this one might be worth a try.

I have been wondering the same thing, hopefully some of the other manufactures catch on to this.
I've hunted almost everyday of my life, the rest have been wasted.

Not that one, I have a Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15x40, and I was actually amazed at how clear it is.

not sure substituting a scope mounted to a rifle for a spotter would be a good safe choice...that would require pointing the rifle at whatever you wanted to look at, aside from the fact that scope is probably huge and you'd need a sherpa to pack your rifle for you.

I have a 6.5-20x50 Leupold on my 22-250 and have never shot anything with more than 6.5 power.  I have used it as a spotter before but I knew exactly what I was looking at.  I would rather carry both my spotter and my rifle.  It is much more comfortable to look all day through a spotter.

I can't imagine it being that useful as a spotter.

I can say that the Elite scopes are very good.  The 4200 is an exceptionally good scope.  I haven't looked through a 6500 but I'm sure the optical quality is as good or better than the 4200.

I wouldn't use it as a spotter.  I carry good quality 8X42 bino's and my spotter on short hikes. Usually the only time I use my spotter is counting points on a buck.  I've been in situations where I spotted a buck and by the time I got the spotter set up I had lost him either in brush or fog.  Sure would be a lot easier just cranking that scope up to 30 power.

I just got this scope yesterday.  Haven't mounted it on the rifle yet but it is crystal clear and the zoom is crazy.  Has a side focus for the range you are shooting and a front focus adjustment.  Not sure how they differ.  Should be an awesome scope.
