Advice on Scout Scopes?
« on: January 06, 2018, 12:25:31 PM »
I'm toying with putting a scout scope on a mid-70s '94 (I know...I just want to use it again and my eyes ain't what they use to be).

I think I have the mount figured out.

My main questions are about the scope and I'd like to hear from anyone who might have tried the whole scout scope thing.

I'm considering 2 main scope options:
1. Burris -2.75 X 20
2. Leopold- 2.5 X 28
3rd option would be to buy a cheapie and see if I like the whole set-up.

I want to check' em out, but can't find anyplace close that has both in stock.

Ring height and type seem to be important also. I'd like to keep the scope as close to the barrel as possible.
Any insights would be appreciated.
