Sig p220 hunter
« on: December 26, 2017, 09:03:59 PM »
I've been wanting this gun and my wife bought it for me for christmas, knowing I won't spend that kinda money on myself when I have a family to provide for.  So my question is, for those that have one or have shot one, how is it?  I pick mine up tomorrow and don't know when I'll be able to shoot it, so just curious is anyone has had any issue with it.  Also, what is the best 10mm self defense ammo?  After getting proficient with it, this will be my every day carry and woods gun.  Thanks is for any info.

It's a Sig.  Feed it regularly, grease it, and don't worry about it

Buffalo Bore. Actually you don't need any special ammo for self defense. All you have to do is fire that 10mm cannon and if the bullet doesn't strike the noise and the shockwave will will scare the shat out of the perp.

I think I will be buying several different types of ammo.  Both for woods carry and self defense.  Then Ill just hit the range and test each of them out starting from 5 yards back to 15 or so yards and see which one performs the best for the gun.  I picked it up last Wednesday and haven't been able to mess with it yet due to work, but I cant wait.  It is heavier than I would have thought, but im glad its on the heavy side to help with recoil.  Would it be better to go with smaller bullet size for self defense, to help with recoil and faster re-aiming or bigger bullet with the knock down power?  I have found rounds down to 60 grains, which to me seems a bit on the small side for a 10mm.

On a side note, does anyone have experience with the G2 research R.I.P. ammo?  Those things look nasty :IBCOOL:
