wow!!! no kidding that is scary looking, I used to mess with them a little but I keep my distance a little more nowadays.

My uncle got bit by a small baby rattles in EWa. Could have been a game ender and he was sick for quite a while.

Took my grand daughters pet ‘Wolfie’ for a hike one day. He chased this critter out of my path. Granddaughter gets a kick out of where I take Wolfie.

Some from my stint in Alabama - copperhead (I'm pretty sure it was hunting some abandoned kittens I found on a red dirt road), timber rattlesnake, and water moccasin/cottonmouth. Lots of close - too close - encounters down there. Wish I had photos of when we were doing research in swamps and catching cottonmouths in waist-deep water at night!  :yike:

The bull snakes in spring have always been extra bratty and will bite even if they are not devistating you can get a gross infection.

Funny, you guys see snakes and grab a camera and make some good photos. I grab a shovel and make 2 snakes... sometimes 3,4,5 out of one.

I used to kill 'em whenever I came across them. Don't get any pleasure out of it anymore. I've developed quite an appreciation for them, and I think they're downright beautiful. I'd rather have lots of snakes than lots of mice.
