I too think they are a beautiful animal and don't bother killing them unless they are in a crowded area like the paved parking lot at Rocky Ford which is the last one I killed a few years ago. I have eaten a few of them and they do indeed taste like chicken. I want to get one in the fall just before they go into hibernation, the last one I ate was in May and it was pretty skinny and there wasn't much meat on them little ribs.

:yeah:  Exactly that.  I've hated snakes since the day I was attacked by one (unknown type).

Rattlers aren't nothing compared to them snakes in Africa and Australia....they can slither along faster than you can run, and there venom is crazy strong, like your dead in hours or sooner. No thank you!!!!!

Here's a pic of a snake I nearly sat on the other day. He wasn't in any hurry to get out of our way, just took his time
