I keep a dog, the dog keeps the turkeys at a comfortable distance from the house.  A high energy dog is recommenced, Brittany's seem to work well for this  8)
Turkeys are smart though, they'll walk right by the dogs fence line taunting the dog, but soon as I open the gate to the yard the turkeys are gone  *poof*

They are entertaining if you set the place up properly to deal with having them around and good manic dog works wonders, even keeps the wood peckers off my cedar siding.

I just made a post on a spot in central wa. to see if it is worth taking my daughter there for youth. If you are willing, I will make the drive so she can hopefully clear a couple off your property during the two youth days. Or, check out "outdoors for our heros" they take out disabled vets on hunts. Great program based out of Olympia.

Hey guys and gals,

Just an update. We had a couple of Cougars and a bob cat around for the last couple of weeks and this winter so they pushed the birds pretty good out of the area. My neighbors haven't even seen them which is unusual. If they are spotted in the coming days and weeks I'll be sure to post on here.

Wish everyone the best of luck and hopefully some will show up.

My 2 sons are wanting to get their first Turkeys this season, we missed youth hunt due to scheduling issues. One is 11yo and the other is 16yo. Let me know if you are letting youth hunt on your property, looking to get out that way in a couple weeks. We live on the west side, Arlington.
