My Lab's 1st Retrieve After Amputation
« on: January 03, 2018, 08:19:55 PM »
Cancer. Firgrove Vet(Puyallup) offered an incredible price and did a great job with Widgeon's left front leg/shoulder amputation. His hair is growing back slowly from having it shaved but his heart is strong as always for hunting. He's 8.5 yrs old.  2 wks of R&R in the house and then we started playing fetch again every day. 1st pics are of him swimming(1st retrieve after surgery - 4wks) and the third pic is of him with a limit at 5 wks. He's got over 30 retrieves to his credit as of now including a couple doubles. He tires faster and is much more careful trekking around the marsh but is still doing great.

I feel so bad for the little fellow, just glad he can do what nature intends for him.

Great pics. Thanks for sharing. I wish I could give him a hug.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Man. That is amazing. He’s so proud of himself. You can see it in his eyes. Happy for all of you. That dog is a warrior as someone else said.
