Jakeland 2017-18 season
« on: January 07, 2018, 05:13:40 PM »
Going to take it slow this season
I started hanging pre-baits up mid December and the cats were pretty slow in hitting them

This is the smallest kitten I've ever caught
He ran up the closest tree when I opened the cage I then pulled that cage and hung about half a beaver up in the tree for it to feed on

I've pulled all my cages for the next week or so crossing my fingers for some snow

Jake, Those are some nicely colored cats for the west side. The cat in the last picture sure has a funny look on it's face; kind of reminds me of someone; can't quite put my finger on who though.

That kitten was actually cute  :chuckle: how much do you think it weighed?

It was smaller then my house cat and she's about 8 lbs
It definitely was a bugger and scared it's just weird I've released 3 kittens that one being the smallest and the other 2 were only maybe double the size

No shortage of cat bait now!  I don’t think you will get the snow you want with our current forecast.  I headed over the 2 yesterday and there was noticeably less snow on the way back then when we headed east in the morning.

thanks for all the tips and info that cage has been set for almost 2 weeks from when I found the fresh mink tracks and it was baited with a chunk of duck and I would add a little mink lure every couple days
