ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -
Postal carriers say a rafter of aggressive wild turkeys have prevented them from delivering mail to more than two dozen homes in a Cleveland suburb.

Cleveland.com reports residents on a number of streets in Rocky River have had to pick up their mail at the post office because the turkeys have created unsafe conditions for carriers to deliver to their homes.

Rocky River Mayor Pam Bobst said the problem has persisted for the last three weeks. She said city ordinances don't allow for the turkeys to be eradicated.

The city has instead sent letters to people asking them to stop putting out bird feed in the hope the turkeys will go elsewhere.

A U.S. Postal Service spokesman says some carriers have been pecked but none have been injured.

Maybe you eastsiders should start taking care of the problem rather than complaining on the internet and wishing wolves on other people s Hunting areas.

Someone needs to lighten up a little and not be so ready to jump on other hunters on this forum. You're new. You get a pass.

Attended a meeting with the WDFW conflict lady concerning the Spokane birds a couple of years ago.  Good chance an aggressive hen or a territorial tom will have their way with a three year old with the current situation.  The lady had had some luck live trapping and hauling the birds for release.  My idea was to teach the locals to do the same, issue $5 tags to help with the problem.  A little income for the state, reduced problems  and not spending the money transporting/releasing captured bird to cause problems elsewhere.  Have not seen any change.

Pianoman perhaps the person should review the WDFW wolf management plan. Just stating the facts that wolves have to be in all corners of the state before we can effectively manage them on the east side.

Since the poster advocates what is considered illegal. Might I suggest that they could be considered a "Prime" suspect in any of the shootings that have taken place past or forth coming.

I could use the point's.

NW I'm not sure you could get certain areas of Spokane to be on board with the removal of the offender's.
