Good day for pup

The guys took Engel out hunting. It was her first hunt, she did pretty good. She even brought them back some jewelry!

Schmalzfam, is Engel an American Water Spaniel? Great photos by you and pens fan(I know he raises Boykins...) bring back memories of my tidal marsh waterfowl hunts of over decade and a half ago with my late AWS Buck. He was a CHARACTER with an amazing nose. I miss him to this day.

Awesome pic Pen!
Very similar. Handsome boy.
Engel is an AWS. She is full of character!
We just got a male and can't wait til he is ready to hunt.
Where did you get Buck from? There aren't many around.
Wish I would've found her years ago.

Buck was one of the last from the kennels of Paul Bovee in Wisconsin. Mr. Bovee sold AWS's for years and advertised them in national outdoor magazines like Outdoor Life...A long ago and different era. Check Engel's pedigree and you might see mention of Mr. Bovee's kennel.

I have heard a lot of great things about their kennel. I believe their lines are still in the works, but pretty far back now. I heard he bred great looking dogs, for hunting. He was very selective and had a special technique. Have you thought about getting another?

Yes, the AWS is always on my short list. Where did you get Engel? AWS breeders in the PNW seem in very short supply.

We got Engel from Cow Creek Kennels in Virginia. She is out of https://www.ofa.org/advanced-search?f=sr&appnum=1365331 to
https://www.ofa.org/advanced-search?appnum=1786341

Then we got our male from Endless Limits in Kentucky.
There is a guy locally who had a breeding, but unfortunately he couldn't get the pups registered due to an issue with his female being limited.
I love this breed!
