Took the kids to thier first 3D
« on: March 07, 2009, 06:47:51 PM »
I wasn't able to go to the meeting in Ellensburg because of lack of babysitter, so my dad and I took the kids to their first 3D shoot. We went to the Kamiakan shoot in Zillah. The first two courses we shot where excellent, the weather was good and the kids had fun. We probably should have shot course #3 first, it's out in the open and by the time we got there the wind was awful. Needless to say the kids didn't have fun anymore. I only had two 5's on the first two courses and was lucky to get anything other than a 5 on the third course. We won't be going to another shot for a few weeks, so hopefully the weather is better the next time. Here are some pics.

This is my dad and my kids.

This is me helping my daughter.

My dad helping my daughter.

He still has a few years, but he was having fun with his bow and arrow.

I think he was having more fun looking backwards through the binoculars and playing with sticks in the dirt.

Thats awesome that you included your kids! 3-D's are a great family event not to mention great practice on yardage estimation. Good luck on your next shoot.

This was my first shot where I hit foam every time. My yardage guess is getting better. This is my third year of shooting. Now if I can only get the wife envolved.

Never give up on the wife. She may see the kids involved and want to join in on the fun. Just means you'll need to go bow shopping for her.

I'm hoping she will tag along on the next one. She had to work today so she couldn't. We'll see maybe someday!!

The wind was crappy. Even with the wind, this was the first time I didn't miss a target. It did cause me to get more 5's than I would liked to have.
